US Aiways Flight Diverted As Crew Falls Ill
by The Daily Lede
A US Airways flight travelling from Venice to Philadelphia has been diverted to Dublin after crew members were taken ill.
The plane landed safely at 3.15pm.
It was greeted by emergency fire services, health and safety authorities and ambulances.
The airline confirmed the flight was diverted because “several of our flight attendants reported medical issues” but said there were “no reports of illness from pilots or passengers.”
“Medical professionals are evaluating our flight attendants and we are re-accommodating our customers on other flights to Philadelphia,” said a statement by airline spokeswoman Michelle Mohr.
Earlier this week, four passengers and two crew members were injured when a US Airways jet hit severe turbulence and returned to Philadelphia.
That flight had been bound for Orlando.
