According to Iraqi officials, Russian experts have arrived to provide the army with assistance with the newly acquired Sukhoi-25 fighter jets, the first of which arrived Saturday to the Middle Eastern nation aboard cargo planes.  Two more shipments are expected to arrive Sunday.

The move displays outright disapproval with the US in their delay to supply the nation with 34 F-16 fighter jets.

Iraqi Air Force officials have confirmed that the jets would be ready for sorties within days but will require further assistance as the American made Hellfire missiles supplied by the US are not compatible with the Russian made Sukhoi fighters.

300 American security advisors are currently stationed in the region along with Iranian advisers which have reportedly been sent from the Republican Guards’ Quds Force.
