Canada reports lowest job growth in 4 years–unemployment rate rises to %7.1

More people were searching for work in June and as a result, Canada’s unemployment rate grew by 0.1 percent.  Forecasters were expecting a gain of up to 35,000 jobs, but instead only 9,400 jobs were created

Year-over-year, Canada’s employment increased by 72,000 or 0.4 percentage points–the lowest since February 2010.

Full-time employment increased for the first time since March, but was offset by the largest decline in part-time work in nearly two years
