Microsoft to cut 18,000 jobs in the next year

Microsoft on Thursday announced the elimination of 18,000 jobs, a total of %14 of it’s workforce.

12,500 factory and professional positions will be cut as a result of the companies strategic initiatives on Nokia Devices and Services.

The first 13,000 will be notified over the next six months and the company says it will offer severance packages to those employees let go.

The company will announce further details later today.
