BREAKING: Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital to receive Ebola patient at special containment facility in the coming days

by The Daily Lede

No word has been given on the arrival time of a patient with the deadly Ebola virus who has been accepted for treatment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Emory University has a specially-built isolation unit set up to treat patients exposed to highly infectious diseases.  The unit is physically separate from other patient areas and is one of four such facilities in the country.

CNN reports Medevac will be picking up more than one patient in Liberia infected with the disease, both Americans, to be treated in the US.  White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says the approach is consistent with previous outbreaks, like SARS,  where infected Americans have been brought back to US soil where they can benefit from our healthcare system.
