Riot police called out in Ferguson, MO after police shoot teen multiple times

18 year-old Michael Brown from St. Louis was shot multiple times in the head and chest by police at the Canfield Green Apartment complex in Ferguson, Missouri.
A family member said that Michael was set to attend college on Monday and gave no explanation as to why the teen was shot. Outraged by the incident, friends, family and neighbors took to the streets of Ferguson demanding answers and confronting police.

Police from 10 different departments have been dispatched to the scene in Ferguson, as well as riot police with rifles and dogs.

Ever since Sep 11, you and I have allowed our government to militarize law enforcement and almost every local, state, and federal law enforcement program is now militarized. We all have stories, black and white, about negative encounters with this new attitude. I too see it first hand. It will only get worse until all levels of law enforcement are returned to normalcy and only enforce how we want them to enforce via the law via Congress. Until then, all levels of law enforcement should be dramatically cut back to try and cushion what will keep occurring here in our home. It is going to get worse before it improves, so be prepared to be abused by our law enforcement activities. If stopped, raise your hands but video tape any interaction with law enforcement. Right now it is the only way to protect yourself. Other than that, seek reduced funding for all law enforcement activities. I pray for the people of Ferguson, MO and I walk with them from New Jersey. I also pray for the officers who don’t know any better but should. Finally, this text will be reviewed by the federal government, passed onto state government, and end up on some list with others who are deemed potential trouble makers. We need to try and take “our government” back. Please do what you can.
